The dengue virus claimed the lives of eight more people on Monday, while 250 people were diagnosed positive for the disease across Lahore.
Per details, Abrar, 28, died at Mayo Hospital, while four people, including Ashraf, 85, Rizwan, 22, Khalid, 34 and Muhammad Umar, 22, passed away at Jinnah Hospital.
Three people who died earlier were also confirmed to have died of dengue. The official number of deaths by dengue has reached 276 in Punjab, with 244 in Lahore alone. The Punjab Health Department confirmed that 266 patients had died due to dengue, with 201 of the deaths occurring in Lahore. The total number of reported dengue patients has reached 18,950, of them 16,094 being reported in Lahore.
According to the information received by the Health Department, 1,168 dengue patients were under treatment at various hospitals of Punjab, 913 of them in Lahore.
