Former Olympian Shahnaz Sheikh said on Monday the success of national team in Champion Trophy (CT) to be played in New Zealand in December, would help revive hockey in the country. He said that this tournament was very important for Pakistan as a gold medal would pull back hockey lovers to the stadium, who are somehow disgruntled due to poor performance. Shahnaz said the future of Pakistan hockey and its players lie in this particular mega event in which top teams of the world are participating and will be showing their muscles for top slot. “We (Olympians) for the last 3 years have been advising time and again to the PHF to develop a strategy, but the PHF up till now hasn’t listened to us,” he said.
