Cold winds blew through the provincial capital Sunday, as snowfall in the hilly areas and rain in the northern areas of the country over the past few days led to a temperature drop across the country. Light rain Saturday night made the weather pleasant in the provincial metropolis, heralding the onset of winters and drawing celebratory crowds out to the Zoo and various parks of the city. People also expressed the hope to be rid of dengue with the change in weather. Markets were crowded with buyers due to the pleasant weather, Eid and the upcoming wedding season, which is synonymous with winters in Pakistan. In Lahore, the minimum temperature dropped to 19 degree Celsius on Sunday, whereas the maximum temperature recorded was a mere 26 degree Celsius.
