First parking plaza to be operational next month

Rawalpindi city’s first parking plaza at the Fowara Chowk in Raja Bazaar would be operational next month. Rawalpindi Development Authority DG Chaudhary Naseer said that on Monday while talking to the APP. He informed that building work of the parking plaza was near completion, which would be completed soon. He said that the project was being completed at a cost of nearly Rs20 million which would mitigate the problems of the motorists who visited the busiest bazaar of the town daily. The DG while giving the credit of the project to Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said the CM had taken a keen interest in the project, which was a long-standing demand of the residents.
The parking plaza constructed on 4.5 kanals of land will have total five stories and a basement. It is located in the heart of the city at the crossing of Liaquat and Jinnah roads near Fowara Chowk. He said that basement and two floors were been completed under the first phase of the project while the remaining three floors would be built soon. He said the basement of the plaza would be used as public service vehicles stand while the upper floors would be used for parking purposes.
