The high-ups in the Federal Board of Education (FDE) have allegedly started tempering with the original list of the daily wagers to adjust their favourites. The move came after a sub-committee of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Cabinet directed the Capital Administrative and Development Division (CADD) to approach the Finance Division for funds to regularise 352 teachers associated with the FDE on daily wages. An official in FDE told Pakistan Today that 189 junior lady teachers and 163 lecturers were working under the FDE on daily wages.
The sub-committee, headed by Syed Khurshid Shah, had asked the CAAD for accommodating the teachers on a permanent basis but the top officials in the FDE were resorting to removing the names of some original candidates to replace them with their beloved ones. The FDE had no funds and posts for these teachers, who were receiving salaries from the funds of their respective college or school. The junior lady teachers and lecturers are working in BPS-16 and BPS-17 respectively. Despite frequent attempts, FDE Chairman Atif Kiani could not be approached for his comments.
