With Eidul Azha not far away and prevailing cold weather conditions after the rain, a great rush was witnessed in the weekly bazaars of the federal capital to buy sweaters and jackets. During a visit of weekly bazaars located in H-9 and G/6, it was observed that a large number of low-income people swarmed at the stalls of second-hand clothes. “It has become difficult for us to buy new clothes because of higher prices; therefore, I came here for buying sweaters,” said Hamid Hasan, a resident of Sector G/6-2. Many shopkeepers have changed their stalls of kitchen items into the winter clothes. “It is the best time to earn more profit by selling used clothes,” said Murtaza, a stall holder.
Weather has turned cold in the capital for last two days, with the mercury level dipping down to 21 degree Celsius. Talking to Pakistan Today, Pakistan Metrological Department Director Arif Mehmood said the winter season had set off, adding that the wintry weather started when the temperature at night decreased to 10 degree Celsius with the mercury at 21 degree in the day. “And for last two days, the same temperature has been recorded in the capital city,” he added. He concluded that the current winter season would continue till March. The Met Office on Sunday said rain with thunderstorm recorded in federal capital and northern areas of the country, adding that weather would remain dry in next 24 hours.
