Sources said that Hassan has links with a network of target killers based in South Africa and has also visited South Africa four times. “He is a mastermind of targeted killings in the city and has confessed of his involvement in killings more than 50 people. Some government personalities are using pressure tactics to get Hassan released,” they added. The security agencies have also taken the personal laptop of the suspect in their custody.
Hassan has told the agencies personnel that he used to get information about his targets through the internet from South Africa, the sources said. On intelligence information, Rangers conducted raids in different areas of Lyari, including Khadda Market, Abdullah College and Baghdadi among other localities, and arrested 16 people while also recovering weapons.
