More than 90 well-known importers, traders and buyers from all over the world attended Pakistan Carpet Exhibition 2011 held at a local hotel here at Lahore. Despite the adverse law and order situation, the response from international carpet traders was beyond expectations.
This was stated by Sheikh Khalid Saeed, chairman Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PCMEA) in an exclusive interview with the press. According to Khalid Saeed Sheikh, it was a successful show in which latest products of the local industry were put on display in 44 stalls set up by exhibitors from various cities in the country. According to preliminary reports, apart from substantial spot sales, orders worth millions of dollars were also booked during the exhibition.
Sheikh Khalid Saeed said that a unique characteristic of the exhibition was the blend of old and new customers who showed tremendous interest in the new innovative products put up by the exhibitor.
