For the first time in the history, Punjab government cancelled the results of Intermediate part one issued by Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) while CM Punjab instructed the officials to hold a judicial inquiry against the responsible in the mismanagement, Pakistan Today learnt on Saturday.
Results were cancelled for Lahore, Gujranwala, Multan and Faisalabd BISE. According to Education Minister Punjab Mian Mujhtaba Shajaurrahaman, new results will declared within two months.
The education minister said “We had introduced computer system for students’ facilities but employees could not operate it due to lack of professional skills in this regard.”
He also said that the students who would like to get their papers rechecked, would have to file an application and BISE will not charge any rechecking fee.
Earlier student burnt the pictures of CM Punjab and PMLN’s President Nawaz Sharif and shouted slogans against him. Students said that poor policies of Punjab government have destroyed the whole education system of the province and cancellation of the results exposed bad governance of PML-N. Protesters also demanded that cancellation of the results is not enough and the education minister Mian Mujhtba Shahja-ur-Rahman should be suspended. Students maintained that he is not capable for the ministry and he is the man who earned a bad name for CM Punjab.
