Errors in intermediate result: students go furious in Punjab

Students of Intermediate part-one in Punjab stormed their respective education board offices on Saturday to protest against reported negligence in announcing results. Numerous errors in the computerised results for Intermediate part I enraged the students who came out on the roads in various cities of Punjab and left behind smashed windows and broken office equipment.
In Gujranwala, the students, while protesting against the board, entered the premises of the board’s building, broke the furniture and set all the educational record ablaze. In a tussle with police, 13 students went injured while three policemen also got injuries.
Punjab government spokesman has said that the students must submit an application regarding rechecking of the papers.
On the other hand, Ayesha Tabbasum, a first-year student of FSc, told Pakistan Today that against her roll number, the name Afzal appeared who had failed. She condemned the negligence in printing, saying it had caused trouble to hundreds of students.
Another student Muhammad Quddus said he had been given zero marks in his best-attempted exam. He said he went through mental stress because of the board’s negligence.
The students in Faisalabad, Mundi Bahauddin and Multan also protested against the errors in their result sheets.
