During her press conference in Kabul on Thursday, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton exhibited both joy – an apparent personal emotion – and the usual American stiff upper lip upon receiving the news of disgraced Libyan president Moammar Gaddafi’s arrest and subsequent killing, a private TV channel reported. Hillary was handed over a cell phone during her press conference in Kabul and after being on the line for a few seconds, she exclaimed, “Oh that’s good news!” When asked by reporters what the good news was, Hillary returned to her usual official outlook telling reporters that although she had been told that Gaddafi had been arrested, the news was still not confirm.
The secretary of state’s expressions hinted at a personal satisfaction with the news, though Hillary’s joy over the good news was cut short by her presence amidst a horde of journalists and she quickly had to don her official outlook again.
