LHWs demand regularisation of jobs, salaries

Lady Health Workers (LHW) and Lady Health Supervisors (LHS) protested on Friday for the resolution of their issues, including the regularisation of their jobs. More than a hundred women, from all over Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, blocked the Sher Shah Soori Road, causing severe traffic problems across the Cantonment area in Peshawar.
The protesters demanded regularisation of their jobs, a proper service structure, and salary for the last four months that they had not received yet, adding that their allowances for working in anti-polio campaigns for five months had not been paid either. The protesters announced protest outside the Parliament House on October 25 and boycott of the upcoming polio vaccination campaign in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa if their demands were not met.
