CM pays homage to Sri Lankan experts

Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif directed the Food secretary on Thursday to evolve an effective system for taking preventive measures and hygienic arrangements in hotels and restaurants due to the prevailing dengue threat and thanked the Sri Lankan experts for their assistance. He said people were thankful to the Sri Lankan government for extending assistance to the country in this hour of trail. It is to be noted that Sri Lankan has sent a three-member experts team again. He said teams comprising experienced medical experts of six big teaching hospitals of the city had been deputed to examine serious dengue patients in private, public and welfare hospitals. He said these teams would visit small hospitals and inform the concerned focal officials of their visits in a detailed manner on daily basis.
Shahbaz said the special committee headed by the chief secretary had formulated a policy regarding tyre businesses that included steps such as the removal of used tyres’ shreds lying in the federal and provincial departments, at petrol pumps, CNG stations, roof tops and various other places. While reviewing the cleanliness campaign in the city, he directed the Lahore District Coordination Officer (DCO) to arrange for free buses for the convenience of people at the points set up for sale of sacrificial animals at various places in the city. He asked Sri Lankan Medical Team Head Dr Palihawadana Paba to take part in the ongoing dengue eradication campaign and review all activities and if there was any need for improvement, it should be identified.
