Armed dacoits looted Rs 340 million from Habib Bank Limited’s branch located on the Rashid Minhas Road in Karachi on Wednesday. Per details, the robbery took place in Gulshan–e-Iqbal area in Shahrah-e-Faisal police precincts.
Unidentified armed men held the bank staff at gunpoint and looted more than Rs 340 million before escaping.
Witnesses said there was only one security guard present in the bank when the robbers struck and he too was preparing tea. The robbers also took away the footage of the CCTV cameras. Police filed a case against the robbers and began a search operation. Meanwhile, despite claims of foolproof security arrangements in the city, armed motorcyclists looted Rs 30 million from a man who withdrew the amount from a private bank in industrial area, located in the jurisdiction of Korangi police station.
