A great day for Pakistan’s professional golf scene and an occasion to celebrate for Aadil Jehangir (Lahore Gymkhana) as he overcame the competitive pressure of the leading ones from Middle East, North Africa and quite a few from Europe to attain the second slot in the final segment of the MENA Golf Tour at the fabulous Al Ain Golf course, UAE.
During this three rounds international event of significance, Aadil has been steady, courageous and focused and has managed to produce scores of excellence on all three days. In every round he has carded a score of 68,looking unbelievably stable, not one shot less or more and the aggregate of 204 has secured for him honors and money and a name in this part of the world and Asia. Aadil lost the top slot to Jake Shepherd of Great Britain who proved to be three strokes better than him. While Aadil had rounds of 68,68 and 68,Jake Shepherds scored 66,68 and 67.Another one who ended amongst the top slots is Sean Mcnamara of USA with rounds of 65,70,65.
From amongst the other Pakistanis Shafiq Masih managed to claim the 10th position with scores of 69, 70 and 68 and a total of 207,six under par. Matloob Ahmed and Shahid Javed Khan ended at 12th position with a similar aggregate score of 208.
