Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani met with Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan and Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah at the Governor’s House on Wednesday.
During the meeting, political issues particularly that of Sindh were discussed.
The prime minister welcomed the Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) decision to rejoin the government and said that this will help restore peace in Karachi.
Matters relating to the law and order situation in the city were also discussed during the meeting. The chief minister informed the prime minister that the situation has considerably improved in the city.
He assured the prime minister that the provincial government will continue indiscriminate action against those involved in disrupting peace in the city.
The portfolios of the MQM in the province were also discussed.
