A 14-member delegation comprising political and social figures of Lower Dir, led by ex-parliamentarian Ahmed Hassan Khan called on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Barrister Masood Kausar at Governor’s House, Peshawar, on Thursday and discussed the problems being faced by the people. The members of the delegation invited the attention of the governor towards the flood damages caused to Khadagzai, Badwan and Chakdara villages last year and requested him to help them in the construction of spurs and protection walls. Apart from agricultural land, they said, the residential areas were also exposed to severe flood threats and there was a need for making safety arrangements. They also lodged complaints of severe electricity load shedding in the area. Responding to the view points expressed by the delegates, the governor assured them that necessary steps to resolve their problems would be taken. The delegation comprised of Khurshid Ali Khan, Ashfaq-ur-Rehman, Haji Nawab, Khadim Jan, Qaiser Khan, Faiz-ul-Hassan, Saltanat Khan, Abdul Sattar, Jan Bahadar, Khan Badshah, Muhammad Islam, Muhammad Arif and Gul Shereenzada.
PML-Q: A representative delegation of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid on Thursday appreciated the government’s decision to extend the Political Parties Order 2002 to FATA and offered all out support to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Barrister Masood Kausar to promote democratic values, political awareness and maintenance of peace in tribal areas. The delegation led by party’s Senior Vice President Mohammad Intekhab Khan and comprising 22 office bearers from party’s FATA chapter called on the governor here at Governor’s House and described the beginning of political activities in FATA a landmark event in the history of tribal areas. On a demand Kausar said that TESCO had been directed to curtail the duration of load shedding in FATA. However he said that TESCO also had certain reservations over the recovery and payment issues.
