A love affair turned sour when a female doctor at Lady Wallington Hospital charged her ‘boyfriend’ Dr Tahir Jamil of Mayo Hospital and his two unidentified accomplices for raping her, Pakistan Today has learnt.
Tahir Jamil, a PG Trainee in the Radiology Department of Mayo Hospital, has been taken into custody by police in order to investigate the matter. Tahir, who graduated from the King Edward Medical University (KEMU) cleared the CSS examinations 2010 and allocated in the Foreign Service of Pakistan. His training will start from November 15.
Complainant Dr Sumaira is a graduate of Islamic International Medical College, Islamabad and presently working as WMO at Lady Wallington Hospital. A couple of weeks ago, Sumaira filed a complaint with the Ravi Road Police claiming that she was allegedly raped by Tahir and his two accomplices.
She claimed that Tahir and his accomplices enticed her to go with them on pretext of checking some female patients at a house where Tahir and his accomplices raped her while giving life threats. On her complaint, police took her to Mian Munshi Hospital for medico legal. The medical certificate issued by the administration confirmed sexual contact. Police took accused Tahir into custody after registering a complaint and started investigating the matter. Sources close to both Tahir and Sumaira told Pakistan Today that both of them belonged to Mianwali and were having an affair for the last four years.
They said that Sumaira was about to get married last year but refused, as she was asked by Tahir to postpone the marriage for his sake. But surprisingly, Tahir himself got engaged with someone else after clearing CSS exams, they added. Sources said that Sumaira was never raped by Tahir. Sources, while quoting statement of Tahir in police custody, said that they were in a “close relationship” with each other since four years and had physical relations as well. Sources claimed that the incident could not be termed as rape but was more likely a “mutually agreed relationship”.
But the relationship worsened when Tahir decided to marry another girl and started avoiding Sumaira, which forced her to take legal steps against him. According to sources, Tahir told police that the girl “forced” him to marry her in order to avoid legal proceedings. City Division Acting SP Investigations Captain (r) Malik Liaqat told Pakistan Today that police were investigating the matter but could not reveal any details about the incident. He said that police will carry out investigation on merit and not favour anyone during the course of investigation.
This CSS doctor should feel shame on his behavior. By keeping the sexual relationship with her lover for four years and asking her to postpone her arranged marriage for his sake, he is now having an engagement with someone else. This is a pure deception and betrayal. How these type of persons who has such a shameful moral character will run the country affairs. That is why there is so much moral decay and corruption in bureaucracy. Why there is no background investigation before selection of CSS candidates. Why only educational matter and apparent personality is the only criteria? Does character don't count any more. He should be expelled from CSS and a criminal case should be registered against him for ruining life of a young female doctor.

i was his batch fellow at KE for 5 years n know him from hostel life as well. n i must say i m quite shocked at this news(if its true). @urooj n zohaib, wats the point? even if it was "MUTUAL CONSENT", it doent make it rite either!! i mean the punishment is to be stoned if he is married n guilty
