Former Pakistan captain Amir Sohail has welcomed Shahid Afridi’s decision to return to international cricket.
“The team needs Afridi and his decision is appreciable, however, the bitter dispute between Afridi and board officials should not have taken place in the first place. Both the parties should have talked behind closed doors,” Amir Sohail said here on Tuesday.
Former captain Shahid Khan Afridi on Tuesday announced his return to the international arena and made himself available for selection.
“Revealing the matter to the media was inappropriate, players as well as board officials should refrain from this practice in the future,” added Sohail.
Perhaps Amir can also explain his position in the team, is it justified ? even if i have to avoid his recent performance with the bat or ball, i cannot simply ignore lack of leadership qualities. I think he should rest and play side cricket, time to bring up fresh blood.
