Robbers deprive citizens of Rs 14 million

Township police have failed to trace out robbers-cum-killers who had shot dead a man a few days back and left his brother injured during a dacoity bid, as robbers struck across the city on Tuesday, depriving citizens of at least Rs 14 million.
Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif had taken notice of the incident and directed Lahore CCPO and DIG Operations to arrest the culprits immediately. Meanwhile, dacoits continued their hunting spree across the city on Tuesday and deprived citizens of valuables and vehicles worth millions of rupees in over 30 robbery hits.
Armed Robbers forced into the house of Sheikh Naeem and escaped after looting valuables, including 100 tolas of gold and cash worth Rs 7 million. Robbers also broke into the house of Prof Dr Mohammad Akhtar Hussain in Mustafa Town and looted valuables including cash, gold ornaments and prize bonds worth Rs 5.4 million. Meanwhile, robbers looted valuables worth Rs 1.2 million from the house of Abdullah in Iqbal Town. In separate robberies, gunmen snatched a car and valuables from Mohammad Amir in Model Town, valuables worth Rs 400,000 from the family of Tabassum in Garden Town and valuables worth Rs 200,000 from the family of Khalid in Nawankot.
Three cars were stolen from Defence, Lytton Road and Shadman, while a bike each was stolen from Shafiqabad, Race Course and Shafiqabad areas.
