Peshawar off to solid start in Quaid Trophy

Peshawar were off to a solid start in the third round Division II Quaid-i-Azam Trophy match against Lahore Shalimar at the Gaddafi Stadium here on Tuesday.
Electing to bat, Peshawar’s opener Muhammad Gayyaz with his brilliant century lifted his team’s total to 328 for three and got healthy support from the other end from Sajjad Ahmed who scored half-century. With just two runs away from his double century, unbeaten Fayyaz is likely to keep the Lahore attack at bay when the game resumes on the second day.
In the other match, United Bank Limited (UBL) made 218 runs for nine against Lahore Ravi at the LCCA ground on Tuesday.
Put into bat, UBL reached the total to fight and the supporting act came from Zafar Ali who scored 58. Emad Ali with his five wicket burst was the star of Lahore bowling attack otherwise the score would have gone beyond reach.
