SHC reopens May 12 case

The Sindh High Court (SHC) has reopened the May 12 case and adjourned the hearing for an indefinite period.
Iqbal Kazmi had pleaded before the court to reopen the May 12 constitutional petition. According to media reports, Kazmi pointed out that he withdrew the petition under threat.
“I was jailed and my wife was kidnapped,” said Kazmi.
Sindh Adocate General said that a five-member bench had concluded the May 12 suo motto case and it is a private application. A two-member bench instructed the petitioner to present his point of view on the next hearing. The application has made MQM chief Altaf Hussain, the then Secretary Interior, Inspector General Police (IGP), Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), DG Rangers and ex-chief minister Arbab Ghlulam Rahim respondents.
