PML-N to move court against Fasih’s appointment

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will move court against the appointment of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman, Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Nisar Ali Khan said on Monday. Addressing reporters outside parliament, Nisar said the PML-N would decide in 24 hours as to when the court would be approached against the appointment of Admiral (r) Fasih Bukhari as the chairman of NAB, APP reported.
Earlier, PML-N MNA Khawaja Muhammad Asif had also hinted that the PML-N could move the Supreme Court against the appointment of Bukhari as NAB chairman. “The PML-N may move the apex court, if needed, against the appointment, which is has been controversial since the beginning and it will be better for Fasih Bukhari himself to avoid being part of the controversy, otherwise he himself will become controversial and no one will trust him in the future”, Asif said while talking to the reporters outside the Parliament House.
He added that the “consultative process” which President Asif Ali Zardari said had been ‘meaningful’, was not meaningful at all. He said giving one name only for an important slot like that of the NAB chief and terming it ‘meaningful’ consultation was unjustified.
