Load shedding is back with a bang

Load shedding increased in the city and touched four to six hours on Monday. Electricity was closed for one hour after every four hours in different parts of the city, including Johar Town, WAPDA Town, Wahdat Road, Faisal Town, Garden Town, Mughalpura and others. Sources in the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) said that load shedding touched four hours in urban areas and six hours in rural areas. Duration of load shedding was only two to three hours on Saturday but it started increasing and touched new heights. A LESCO official said that Lahore was facing around 400MW shortfall, as supply remained 2,300MW while demand 2,700MW. He said that power supply from the national grid was declining continuously and increasing load shedding. According to Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO), power shortfall remained 2,280MW with generation 12,675MW and demand 14,955MW.

  1. Some times its Demand and supply issue , some times it is Babar Awan not approving the Grants and some times we there is not shortfall either its consumed 16,000 MW.
