KC condemns Samar’s killer

A student of Kinnarid College (KC), Samar Wasti, was brutally murdered in front of the college on Monday. The college will remain closed today (Tuesday) in order to mourn Samar’s death and prayers will be held in her honour tomorrow. (Wednesday) The entire college condemned the student’s murder. The faculty and students mourned the death of ICS student, Samar, who was murdered by a boy named Shams, who allegedly, was in love with her and used to stalk her. Shams murdered the student in the afternoon on the overhead bridge in front of KC. Samar was crossing the overhead bridge to get to her car when Shams approached her and shot at her. Students present at the overhead bridge panicked upon hearing gunshots and dispersed while students from inside the college rushed outside.
According to a teacher, faculty members were shocked when they heard the gunshot and rushed over to the crime scene where Samar’s corpse lay and shocked the students as well as teachers. She said the incident was a gruesome incident and the entire college was yet to come to terms with it
A student, Saba, said that students were hysterical while informing their parents about the incident later on. She said she could not even narrate the alarm and distress that the incident had created. Another student, Sara, said the incident had shocked the entire college and female students from other colleges and the panic it created was unspeakable. She said she could not forget having seen Samar’s corpse and the fact that she was her fellow-student, made the incident even more shocking. Sara said the boy was used to stalk and chase Samar and kept tabs on her every move. Students condemned the murderer who, to them, was cruel and was not a self-less lover but a selfish murderer. Another student said Samar was a brilliant student and companion while the boy was not just a despicable assailant but a murderer too. She said love could not have motivated Shams to kill and the incident just signified that he was a psychopath and an extremist.
On the other hand, after the incident, the college administration sealed the building and not even parents of the students were allowed to enter. KC Principal Dr Rukhsana David called the dean committee meeting after the incident and condemned the happening. She asked the concern department inform Samar’s parents of her brutal murder. Dr David said she could not comment on the real details of the story but since Samar was a part of the institution, the college would remain closed for a day to mourn her death. Citizens and families visited the crime scene even at night and condemned the incident.
