He was more of a student than a son

A student of 1st Year at Government College University (GCU), Lahore committed suicide on Monday, shooting himself in the head after failing his examinations, in the Ravi Road Police precincts. The deceased was identified as 18-years-old Shahzad Ahmed, a resident of Nawaz Sharif Park located in Qila Lachman Singh. Police said that Shahzad was a student of General Science at GCU. On Monday, Shahzad’s friends went to see their result after which they informed Shahzad that he was not able to pass. Shahzad got disheartened after hearing about his failure and went straight to his room, where he locked himself and later shoot himself in the head.
Family of Shahzad, after hearing bullet shots, rushed to Shahzad’s room and found him lying in a pool of blood.
They informed police, which reached the spot handed over the body of the deceased to his family after completing legal formalities. In another mishap, a 23-year-old mentally disabled man, who was injured after setting himself on fire a few days ago in the Lytton Road Police precincts, died at Mayo Hospital. The deceased was identified as Khurram, a resident of Hashmi Street. Police said that the deceased was not normal and living along with his father, who had suffered a stroke. A few days ago, Khurram sprayed kerosene oil on his body and set himself on fire due to which he was severely injured. Police removed the body of the deceased to the morgue for autopsy in order to complete legal formalities.
