Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz central leader and MNA Hamza Shahbaz said the war against corruption in Pakistan is the most important demand of the people, without which we cannot achieve a dignified status in the comity of nations. He said Zardari’s government has appointed corrupt individuals as the heads of the country’s institutions and the youth should raise voice against this system.
He expressed the views during a question-answer session in the open house programme of youth parliament on Sunday. Hamza said that it is unfortunate that the menace of corruption has spread in the entire society and even hajj was not spared. He said “corruption experts” are being given the important offices but no attention is being paid to problems such as increasing numbers of jobless youth, lawlessness, load-shedding and price-hike.
He said the youth will have to mobilise themselves to bring a revolution in the country. He said that 80 percent population of our country is comprised of youth less than 30 years of age but their potential was being wasted due to selfish and unwise rulers. Hamza said that the Punjab government was contributing towards the education and training of youth through endowment funds, the construction of sports stadiums, foreign tours for position holders, speech competitions and essay writing competitions and setting up Daanish Schools.
He said that every one appreciates the steps taken by the Punjab Chief Minister to promote education. He said that the youth will have to play an effective role for the progress and prosperity of the country. The students presented a cheque of funds collected for the assistance of flood victims.
