Senior Lahore Police officers constituted an inquiry committee to probe the missing dead body of an unknown person from Mayo Hospital morgue to take responsible persons to task.
The Inquiry Committee will conduct a probe and submit its report to the CCPO Lahore in two days. According to details, Shafiqabad Police sub-inspector Zulfiqar had deposited the body of an unidentified man at Mayo Hospital morgue on October 5. However, the body disappeared from the morgue with the alleged connivance with Sub-inspector Zulfiqar and was allegedly sold to a medical college.
The body’s record was removed from the register of morgue. Taking notice of the incident, senior officers constituted an inquiry committee to probe the matter and take action in the light of the inquiry report.
BODIES FOUND: Two persons were recovered dead under mysterious circumstances from two different areas on Sunday. A 40-year-old man was recovered from Vegetable Market in Ravi Road while a 35-year-old man was recovered dead from Circular Road near Data Darbar. Police removed the bodies to the morgue for autopsy. Concerned police the deceased persons were apparently drug addicts.
However, an autopsy will ascertain the cause of deaths. Police have taken action under section 174 of PPC. Shadbagh police registered a case against a quack who had administered a wrong injection to a student of Class 7 and claimed his life a few days ago.
According to police, all degrees of the accused doctor were proven bogus. The victim Mustafa Butt, 12, son of Fayyaz Butt, resident of Street No 39, Shadbagh, was brought to the clinic of accused Dr Sarfraz after he suffered from fever. The doctor took Rs 5,000 as fee and administered the wrong injection which claimed Mustafa’s life life. Police have registered a case against accused doctor and arrested him for further interrogations.
MUJAHID SQUAD: Mujahid Squad Police claimed to have arrested 137 accused persons while responding to Rescue 15 calls and got 117 cases registered against arrested accused during the last one week.
According to a handout issued on Sunday, Mujahid Squad Police have also arrested 8 POs and CAs during the last one week. Mujahid Squad police have also recovered huge cache of illegal weapons, drugs and bottles of imported wine from the custody of arrested accused.
