PARIS – Swede Robin Soderling will miss his home event in Stockholm next week as he is still suffering from mononucleosis (viral infection) which could see him also miss out on a title defence at Bercy. “I’m extremely disappointed and sad right now,” he said in a Facebook message on Sunday. “Playing in Stockholm is very special for me and it’s a title I still miss and dream about.”
The world number six insisted he planned to come back as soon as he could but he explained: “I have tried to train but my body did not play along. I felt worse afterwards.” Soderling, 27, twice a finalist at Roland Garros, has won titles this year at Brisbane, Rotterdam, Marseille and Bastad.
