The Pakistan Scrabble Association (PSA) announced the team for participation in the World Youth Scrabble Championship to be held at Johar Baru, Malaysia. The World Youth Scrabble Championship (WYSC) will be held from December 6-8. The PSA had earlier picked a group of top 26 players from a pool of more than 500 players that participated in the various school level competitions throughout the year. The final selection round was played between these top players.
The Players finishing at the first eight positions in the final selection round will participate at the WYSC. The eight players are; Shahzaib Khatri, Jahanzaib Khan, Inshal Shahbaz, Javeria Salman, Javeria A Mirza, Talal Amjad, Minhaj Uddin and Taha ul Huda. “The four of these have participated in the WYSC 2010 played at Manila, Philippines. The 14 year old Inshal was the star of the event competed against the more experienced players. He dominated the tournament and came very close to winning it but stumbled at the last hurdle and finished third,” PSA Director Marketing Muhammad Hassan Bin Azad said.
