The prices of most of vegetables items in the city’s Sunday bazaars witnessed significant increase as compared to last week’s prices. This week, the prices of potato, onion, bitter gourd, garlic and ginger witnessed significant increase.
However, this week the prices of tomatoes remained stable. It was sold at previous week’s rate of Rs 64 per kg. This week the prices of green chilli, pumpkin, and brinjal also witnessed an increase over last week’s rates. According to Sunday bazaar price lists, this week onion was sold at Rs 46 per kg rather than previous week’s Rs 40 per kg. Garlic was sold at Rs 80 per kg compared to the previous week’s rate of Rs 76 per kg.
Similarly, the prices of round gourd also witnessed a significant increase. This week, the prices of round gourd witnessed an increase of Rs 10 per kg: it was sold at Rs 70 rather than previous week’s Rs 60 per kg. While almost all other vegetable prices remained the same as previous weeks’ rates. This week the prices of chicken witnessed a slight decrease. It was sold at Rs 117 against previous week’s rate of Rs 120 per kg.
In the fruit section, this week the prices of Apple (Musadi) witnessed an increase of Rs 5 per kg. This week it was sold at Rs 55 per kg rather than previous week’s Rs 50 per kg. Golden apple was sold at Rs 100 per kg.
