‘City’s peace temporary if directives not followed’

The Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi (MQM-H) has warned the government that the current peace in the city would turn out to be ‘temporary’ if it fails to implement the directives of the Supreme Court. In a statement issued from the ‘temporary’ Baitul Hamza, the party’s headquarters, MQM-H Vice Chairman Shamshad Khan Ghauri demanded action against criminal masterminds and called for an end to the “no-go areas” in Karachi.
He claimed that anti-state elements are not allowing the release of his party’s chief, Afaq Ahmed Ghauri claimed that several religious and political parties including some leaders of the Pakistan People’s Party support the release of Ahmed, but the government is not releasing the Haqiqi chief only to appease its coalition partner. The Haqiqi vice chairman criticised the government for not paying attention to the genuine problems of the masses.
