LAHORE – Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani takes special pride in holding a degree in journalism. During an interview with Samaa TV, Gilani was asked that being a journalist, holding a masters degree, how he felt when the same media got hostile towards his government.
The prime minister was quick to correct the host, saying, “I hold a PhD degree in journalism. Let me assure you that my degree is genuine.” The prime minister hoped that the future governments would also be as tolerant towards the media as his government had been, taking media’s criticism in a healthy manner.
Gilani loves to drive: The general public and organisers of a function at Iqbal Academy were taken by surprise to see Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani driving away from the venue himself and without the official protocol. Witnesses said the prime minister first expressed the desire to drive the car to his military secretary and then left the venue in the driver’s seat of his official car, leaving the public to wonder how fond the prime minister was of cars.
