An application has been filed in the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Saturday against the recent increase in electricity tariff by National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA). The application was filed by petitioner Imtiaz Rasheed, in addition to a pending petition, through his counsel Muteenul Haq.
The petitioner contended that the NEPRA had increased power tariff by Rs 3.04 per unit under monthly fuel adjustment charges which would be applicable from August. He contended that the NEPRA had no authority to increase the power tariff, therefore, the implementation of the increased tariff should be stayed.
