Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Ayaz Sadiq on Saturday ordered the Gulberg Town TMO to immediately carry out anti-dengue spray and fogging at the hockey stadium, Qaddafi Stadium and other grounds jointly with the Punjab sports director general.
He was chairing a meeting of the Gulberg Emergency Dengue Committee at the Gulberg Town TMA. Sadiq directed the TMO to remove garbage from grounds before spray and fogging and also ensure draining out of stagnant water. The meeting decided that educational institutions being run by various NGOs and religious seminaries in Gulberg Town should also be included in the drive against dengue and asked to carry out spray and fogging in their institutions according to government instructions.
On a report regarding 199 tyres shops at Gulberg Town, the meeting decided that the TMA Gulberg Town should carry out detailed inspection of these shops next week again so that these could not become hotspots of breeding mosquitoes.
