Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) leader Altaf Hussain had a telephonic conversation with Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik and discussed the country’s political and law and order situation.
Talking to Hussain, Malik said ‘miscreants’ wanted to derail the law and order situation in Karachi and Dera Ismail Khan. He said miscreants were pitting political parties against each other. He said intelligence reports reported the threat of attacks on political party offices to create bad blood between them and to derail the law and order situation in Pakistan, particularly Karachi.
Malik said the government was taking steps for foiling conspiracies but needed the support of all religious and political parties. Hussain expressed grave concerns over the reports and said the country was passing through a critical phase. He said the time had come for all political and religious parties to unite to defeat the conspiracies of miscreants. The MQM press release refers to Interior Minister Rehman Malik as ‘Dr’ for the first time after he obtained an honorary doctorate degree.
