In an attempt to track the roots of religious fundamentalism in Pakistan, Dr Taimur Rahman delivered a lecture on Saturday in the Lahore office of the Labour Party on class basis of religious fundamentalism.
Rahman established that the US and Pakistan’s religious right was to be blamed for extremism and fundamentalism in the country by showing official documents of the US government and videos of Taliban leaders meeting with the CIA. He said the world was made to believe that the Soviet Union wanted access to Pakistan’s hot waters.
The US pulled the Soviet Union in Vietnam through the Operation Cyclone, Taimur added.
