Traders on Friday staged a protest against the failure of Islamabad police to recover their community’s member who got missing from his town nine days ago.
They gathered in front of the National Press Club and shouted slogans against police officials for not conducting fair investigation into the case. Traders’ Action Committee President Ajmal Baloch led the protest while presidents of several markets also participated in the demo.
According to details, Allah Ditta, a shopkeeper in Farooqia Market, was kidnapped from Alipur Farash on October 6. His wife got an FIR registered with Shahzad Town police for the recovery of her spouse.
The protesters alleged that even after lapse of more than a week, the police were reluctant to conduct a thorough investigation into the case. They also alleged that the police also had not provided them with a copy of the FIR.
The protesters warned the police high-ups that they would stage a protest in front of the IG police office if they failed to recover the abducted trader at earliest.
