Rescue 1122 turns 7

The Punjab Emergency Service, Rescue 1122, on Friday completed seven years of life saving services rescuing over 1.1 million victims of emergencies allover Punjab.
Two fire vehicles from Strathclyde Fire & Rescue Service, UK were handed over to Rescue 1122. Bailie Hanzala Malik, Member Scottish Parliament played a key role in arranging donation of fire tenders from the UK. Chaudhry Sarwar, the first Muslim British MP, also graced the occasion. Rescue 1122 Director General Dr Rizwan Naseer highlighted the seven years’ history of the service during which the service was established all over Punjab and a comprehensive system of emergency response was established including emergency ambulance, rescue, fire, disaster response and community safety services. Rescue 1122 was also assisting Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Karachi and Gilgit-Baltistan in establishing a rescue services system, he said.
