Pakistan’s ambassador to China, Masood Khan, has said Pakistan is very keen to expand its links with China in the field of education and to increase the exchange of students and teachers between the two countries. He expressed these views while talking to Xie Heping, president, Sichuan University here Friday.
Masood Khan said leaders of both countries are paying full attention to people-to-people contact, particularly building stronger ties in the field of education. The ambassador thanked president Xie for housing a Pakistan study centre in this elite Chinese university and for providing an excellent environment to the Pakistani students studying there. Xie lauded the close friendship between Pakistan and China and offered to provide more scholarships to Pakistani students. Ambassador Khan also visited the Pakistan study center and met its director and professors. He discussed with them matters pertaining to the centre and urged the scholars to further strengthen relations between the two countries through their commitment and hard work. He said Pakistan Study centre should be a hub of research on Pakistan, guiding Chinese academicians and investors to find new opportunities in the country besides working to apprise the younger generation of the friendship between the two countries. Later, the ambassador addressed the students of the University.
