Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Munawar Hasan on Friday urged the government and armed forces to stop fearing the US as that had allowed Washington to pressurise Pakistan. Addressing the Friday congregation in the mosque at Mansoora, he said that the US had failed to convince the world on Osama Bin Laden’s death and Taliban being responsible for the 9/11 attacks. He added that the West was dividing Muslims into various categories.
Munawar condemned the government’s decision of giving India the Most Favourite Nation status, adding that the government had ignored the mass graves in Indian-held Kashmir. Referring to the three-day Ijtema of the Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba in Lahore on Saturday, he hoped that the students’ moot would help in improving the current situation in Pakistan.
