The LHC and all other courts under its administrative control across Punjab will remain open on Saturdays and continue their judicial work like before, LHC Registrar Sohail Nasir said on Friday. The LHC registrar said in interest of litigants and load of cases in courts, LHC CJ Ijaz Chaudhry decided that courts could not avail two weekly holidays.
The registrar, quoting the CJ, said that the National Judicial Policy (NJP) required that courts continued uninterrupted working six days a week to reduce pendency and dispense justice to the public continuously.
