Vehicles’ fake registration scam unearthed

A scam of fake registration of vehicles has been unearthed by Rawalpindi Excise and Taxation Office, under which the stolen files of Islamabad Excise Office were being used to get the stolen vehicles registration in various cities.
According to details, three files of official vehicles of government department, Anti-dumping Authority were stolen from Islamabad Excise and Taxation Office and sent to different cities for the registration of stolen vehicles. The files were used in Mardan, Peshawar and Rawalpindi to get registered the stolen vehicles.
A stolen file was presented in Rawalpindi Excise and Taxation Office by a person namely Sohail Abbas for the registration of a vehicle but, when Excise and Taxation Officer (ETO) Malik Shehzad thoroughly checked and examined, it was found a stolen file which was being used again to get registration of a stolen vehicle.
