PESHAWAR – At least seven suspected militants were killed and several others injured in US drone attacks in two different areas of Waziristan region on Thursday. The militants had set up a compound in a house in Danday Darpakhel. The compound was targeted by a US drone with two missiles and was razed to the ground, killing and injuring the occupants.
The officials in Miranshah said four people were killed and another eight injured. One of the deceased was identified as Jamil Haqqani, a member of Haqqani network but he was not related to Jalaluddin Haqqani. Identity of the others killed and injured could not be ascertained but the tribesmen said they included some foreigners.
The Danday Darpakhel attack was followed by another in Zaiba Mountain in Birmal tehsil of South Waziristan where a group of militants were targeted with missiles by a US drone. Four militants were killed on the spot.
