Pak-Iran gas pipeline to bring industrial revolution: Iranian Ambassador

Mashallah Shakeri, Ambassador of Iran in Pakistan, said that Pak-Iran gas pipeline project would bring industrial revolution in Pakistan.
Addressing a meeting here at Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), here on Friday, he said that after quitting India from gas pipeline project, despite severe pressure. Iran did not let Pakistan and kept engaged with Pakistan on gas pipeline project.
Mashallah Shakeri further added that till next month the gas pipeline would reach to Pakistani border and under this agreement Pakistan would get 16 cubic feet gas from Iran.
Pak-Iran gas pipeline would strengthen relations of both the countries while it will escalate opportunities of trade and investment, he maintained.
Moreover, dialogue is in progress under which Iran will provide 1,000 megawatt electricity to Pakistan while it would help Pakistan to cope with the ongoing energy crises of Pakistan, said the Ambassador.
Iran has signed an agreement with government of the Punjab to establish a slaughter house in Lahore, he said.
On the occasion, President of LCCI Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said that trade volume between Pakistan and Iran is $ 1 billion which would reach till $ 5 billion in 2015. He proposed for Islamabad-Tehran-Istanbul train service which will increase trade opportunities.
The senior vice president of LCCI, the vice president, former presidents and members of Executive Committee, Iranian Consul General in Lahore and others were also present on the occasion.
