The investigations wing of Naseerabad Police has traced the killers of famous Fashion Designer Hassan Sheharyar’s (HSY) driver, who was killed in a robbery at HSY boutique on October 8, police sources told Pakistan Today on Thursday.
According to details, driver Bashir Khokhar, 45, was found dead by Omer, a boutique employee coming to work at 10am. He immediately called the police and told that he thought Khokhar had committed suicide. Police reached the area and sent the dead body for an autopsy, while starting investigations.
Initial interrogations revealed that two unidentified men had entered the boutique and left after a conversation with Khokhar. Cops believed that the visitors had choked Khokhar to death and then emptied all store lockers containing cash worth Rs 250,000.
Police sources said that neither HSY nor his staff could identify the robbers in a CCTV video. Sources said the robbers’ faces in the CCTV footage were not clear because the robbers had not turned on the lights.
However police later traced the robbers involved in the crime by tracking down Khokar’s mobile phone record. Sources said the robbers belonged to Sahiwal district and had a frequent phone connection with Bashir, who had contacted them after closing down the boutique. The two reached the shop and robbed the place in Khokhar’s presence, but killed him in the end to avoid arrest, sources added.
Police said it would soon start raids to arrest the criminals and recover the cash. Superintendent of Police (Investigations) Shoaib Khurram Janbaz confirmed that the investigators had traced the case but avoided giving further details.
