A petition has been moved in the Lahore High Court (LHC) challenging the nomination of Admiral (r) Fasih Bokhari as the new National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman. Barrister Javed Iqbal filed an application stating that Bokhari did not fulfill requirements for the post.
The applicant also mentioned that the former navy chief had himself faced serious corruption allegations, therefore he could not be appointed head of NAB, an anti-corruption body. President Asif Ali Zardari has recently named Admiral (r) Bokhari the new chairman of NAB. The post has been vacant for the last few months.
