Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) President Kh Nadeem Ahmed, PCB Lahore Region Women Wing representative Nooshin Haneef and Kinnaird College sports director has congratulated Zaka Ashraf on his appointment as chairman of the PCB. “We wish him good luck,” said Nooshin while Kh Nadeem, who is also former first class cricketer, welcomed his appointment and assured him full cooperation from the LCCA in the revival of cricket. “The Pakistan cricket is going through a very uncertain period as there is no international activity at home and in the given circumstances we need to address this issue on priority basis by forming a strong lobby at the ICC for pleading Pakistan’s case for resumption of the international cricket in Pakistan,” he said.
“Zaka Arshaf brings with him the administrative and managerial experience to run the PCB on professional lines and to streamlines cricket affairs specially at regional level which was not given due attention,” he added. He said in a scenario when international cricket was not being played in the country, the PCB should endeavour to strengthen its domestic cricket with the cooperation of regional bodies. “Those regions which are playing active role in the development of cricket at grass root level should be given due recognition as they are the basic institutions working for the development of cricket at early level,” the LCCA President said.
