Zaka’s first priority is to bring international cricket back to Pakistan

The newly-appointed chairman PCB Zaka Ashraf has put the resumption of international cricket in Pakistan as his first priority. Zaka, who will face another tough ask of getting recognised by the International Cricket Council, would have muster enough support from the regional association to get into the office in a democratic way otherwise Pakistan cricket might face isolation.
However, he has termed the spot-fixing issue as the worst nightmare the Pakistan cricket has ever faced.
Although he did not come to media as yet in formal but reports coming from different quarters and brief television reports say that his priority is to bring international cricket back to Pakistan and he would be meeting former cricketers for their feed back.
Ashraf was Tuesday appointed chairman of the PCB by President Aif Ai Zardari after Ijaz Butt’s tenure expired on October 8. Only recently the ICC committee of Pakistan recommended that the PCB should have a democratic way of electing its chairman and the PCB was in the process of making amendments in its constitutions but it now depends upon Zaka how he would make things right for Pakistan cricket. Since Ashraf does not have any notable experience of handling cricket affairs, he would need a lot of suggestions and advice from the cricket pundits in the country. Reports said that several former cricketers were approached by his seeking their help.
