Afridi said the IPO could play the key role to promote social and economic activities by increasing trust level and affective implementation of IP laws in the country.
He said the nature has blessed us with a number of resources, educated and skilled manpower, however; there was a need to adopt IP laws to meet the quality standards of international arena.
He was of the view that burgeoning piracy and counterfeiting were still affecting the national economy.
“We have to discourage such menaces. We have to fix our proprieties in accordance with international standards, he added. While sharing views about IPO role”, he said, adding that collective efforts were being made to put Pakistan on the IP map of the world.
During the meeting, it was also suggested that it was the need of the hour to involve all segments of the society, especially students, academia, journalists and business community for the promotion of intellectual property rights in the country.
The participants of the meeting urged the government to implement IP laws through an affective drive so that the provision of standardised products and services might be ensured at the national level.
